Go Gray in May: Brain Tumor Awareness Month 2025

by Zara Jethani

Learning Lights the Way

May is Brain Tumor Awareness Month—a time to support, educate, and uplift those affected by brain tumors. Explore the resources we’ve curated for individuals living with a brain tumor, and their loved ones. You’re also invited to join Pacific Neuroscience Institute for a celebratory walk on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Providence Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, CA.

This year, patients at all our brain tumor clinics across the Southland will receive enamel pins during the month of May. We welcome caregivers from all sites throughout the region to join us in person to celebrate our patients and their loved ones.

Shining a Light on Brain Tumors

Many of our patients with brain tumors—and their loved ones—often share feelings of being overlooked, isolated, or left in the shadows. When a diagnosis is considered “rare” or “uncommon,” it can bring unique challenges, especially when symptoms and treatment effects aren’t always visible. That’s why it’s so important to recognize and celebrate the incredible strength and resilience of these individuals and their families. Let’s come together this May for the #GoGrayinMay campaign to honor and uplift them.

In recognition of Brain Tumor Awareness Month, we’re providing educational tools and resources specially designed for brain tumor patients and their care partners. We’re also hosting a special awareness walk around Providence Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica—and we warmly invite you to be part of it.

Brain Tumor Awareness Walk & Events

Date: Wednesday, May 28th
Events Time: 12pm – 2pm
Walk Time: 1:30pm

Location: Providence Saint John’s Health Center, 2121 Santa Monica Blvd, Santa Monica, CA 90404

Join us in person for a meaningful celebration featuring informational booths and our annual Brain Tumor Awareness Walk! Now in its fifth year, this special walk around the hospital brings together patients, caregivers, loved ones, advocates, and staff. The walk begins at 1:30 PM in Saint John’s Mullin Plaza (outside the hospital), but the festivities kick off at noon at Flaherty Commons (hospital second floor). Enjoy fun activities and a delicious catered lunch.

This year, we are proudly featuring patient and family artwork, and publications, showcasing how life can continue creatively even with a diagnosis of brain tumor. The work will be displayed on May 28th at the walk event.

This event is open to all patients, care partners, family, friends, researchers, and clinicians. Registration is not required.
